The event highlighted the remarkable achievements of the award-winning startups through a grand ceremony. Mr. Lee Guann Jyh, Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration (SMESA), Ministry of Economic Affairs, personally presented the awards to seven outstanding startups and innovation-driven enterprises, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence.
Over the past decade, i2i has demonstrated outstanding performance in operating public–private partnership (PPP/OT) incubation programs, contributing over NT$100 million in royalties to the government. Through expert mentorship, business matchmaking, and collaboration, i2i has cultivated numerous local startups and received multiple honors, including the Asia’s Best Incubation Center Award, Taipei City Incubation Excellence Award, and the Ministry of Finance Golden Thumb Award, making it a model for government–industry collaboration.
Currently, both Nangang and Kaohsiung Software Incubation Centers maintain an impressive occupancy rate of over 95%, with new investments reaching NT$680 million in the past year, showcasing the robust growth of resident startups.
Chairman Gong Ren Wen explained that the i2i logo’s red and black rings form the abbreviation i2i, meaning Innovation to Industry. This symbolizes i2i’s mission—supported by SMESA—to help startups transform innovative ideas into industrial success. The red and black colors represent the shift from financial loss (red) to profitability (black), reflecting i2i’s goal of helping startups grow from early struggles to sustainable success.
